H-1B Visa Registration
Prepare for H-1B cap registration starting March 6, 2024
USCIS is introducing further enhancements to the H-1B online registration system in order to streamline the process and maintain integrity of the H-1B program. As before, employers will need to open a USCIS H-1B registrant account in order to submit H-1B registrations even if they are working with an outside immigration legal team.

What’s New for 2025
- Online Organizational Accounts: All H-1B registrant accounts will need to be upgraded to organizational accounts on February 28, 2024. Organizational accounts will allow employers and their immigration legal team to collaborate online for the submission of H-1B registrations.
- Beneficiary centric selection: USCIS has refined the lottery selection process to ensure fairness to all registrants by making the selection process “beneficiary centric” rather than “registration centric”. This will eliminate the unfair advantage of higher selection rates through multiple registrations. All beneficiaries will need to provide a current passport number or valid travel document number as their unique identifier.
- Online filing of H-1B applications (I-129 and I-907): With the introduction of organizational accounts, employers and legal teams will also be able to collaborate and file H-1B applications online for forms I-129 and I-907 in addition to the option of paper filing.
Next Steps
USCIS will launch the upgraded online registration system on February 28, 2024 so that employers and legal teams have time to set up their organizational accounts before the 2025 H-1B registration period from March 6, 2024 to March 22, 2024.
