Rejection of Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver Applications (Form I-601A)

USCIS issued a recent reminder to applicants for Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver Applications (Form I-601A) to make sure to include evidence that the applicant has paid the Immigrant Visa Application Fee to the U.S. Department of State (DOS). I-601A Waiver Applications that do not include the fee receipt issued by DOS will be rejected. USCIS has already rejected many of these applications since it began accepting them on March 3, 2013 for not including proof of the required payment.

Applicants are reminded to:

1) Pay the Immigrant Visa Application Fee to DOS prior to submitting the I-601A Waiver,
2) Include the DOS-issued receipt with your I-601A Waiver Application, and
3) Make sure the receipt is the official DOS-issued receipt, as other types of receipts, such as money order receipts, will not be accepted.
