Immigration Law Firm, Fragomen Sues Department Of Labor
Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, the largest Immigration law firm
in the United States, has sued the US Department of Labor. The lawsuit
comes after the Department of Labor had ordered an audit of permanent
green cards that were filed by Fragomen. The audit was ordered after the
DOL found that Fragomen lawyers may have been advising their clients in
regard to US workers who appeared potentially qualified for the position
that the green card applicant was applying for. Fragomen, however, denies
that helping employers through the hiring process is wrong. According
to them, the PERM process is difficult to interpret unless one has the
help of an immigration lawyer. In the lawsuit by Fragomen, the law firm
alleges that some of the rules of the Department of Labor are unconstitutional
and amount to interference of the attorney-client relationship.
