Tourist Visa
If you would like to enter the United States for medical visits, business,
or tourism, a tourist visa is generally required. A tourist or visitor
visa is a temporary (nonimmigrant) visa for business (B-1) or for pleasure
or medical treatment (B-2).
The tourist visa is available to visitors who are coming to the U.S.
for either business or pleasure.
The B-1 business visitor visas are for short durations and do not give
rights to seek local employment. Some countries nationals may be eligible
to visit the U.S. for up to 3 months without obtaining a visa.
The B-2 visa is the appropriate category for tourist which is how more
than three fourths enter the US. The B-2 actually covers tourists, medical
visits, conferences, visits to friends or relatives, prospective students,
as well as arts and entertainment events.
