H-1B Cap Count for FY 2011 as of December 31, 2010. The H-1B Quota for US Masters exhausted, H-1B visas still available under th

|

As of December 31, 2010, approximately 57,300 H-1B cap-subject petitions have been filed. Additionally, 20,000 H-1B petitions for aliens with advanced degrees have been received by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). USCIS will continue to accept both cap-subject petitions and advanced degree petitions until a sufficient number of H-1B petitions have been received to reach the statutory limits, taking into account the fact that some of these petitions may be denied, revoked, or withdrawn.

We expect that the H-1B Quota of 65,000 H-1B visas or to be more precise 58,200 H-1B visas (as 6,800 H-1B visas are reserved for Singapore and Chile), to be reached shortly.

As stated above, 20,000 cases have been filed under the H-1B Quota for US Masters cases out of a total of 20,000 H-1B visas since April 2010. The H-1B Quota for US Masters has been exhausted. A person with a US Masters Degree and/or a Masters Degree from any country can still apply under the general quota where H-1B visas are still available
