Zoster Vaccine Shortage
The Zoster vaccine, a new vaccine that, beginning July
01, 2008, is required for all applicants who are age 60 or older, is currently
unavailable. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has informed
the USCIS that due to shipping delays by the manufacturer, the vaccines will be
temporarily unavailable. The Zoster vaccination is listed on the revised
edition of Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record.
Until the vaccine is available again, the Form I-693 will be accepted if only
the Zoster vaccine is missing from the form. This may be noted by civil
surgeons by writing “vaccine not available” on the Form. |
