Visa Bulletin Update – September 2008

Employment Based Green Cards:

 

The EB-2 category for both China and India has moved forward by two (2) months from June 01, 2006 to August 01, 2006.  The EB-1 category is still Current for all countries.  The EB-3 category for all countries is still Unavailable. 

 

Family Based Green Cards:

 

The dates for the 1st category, unmarried sons and daughters of US citizens, for Family Based Green Cards for China and India has moved up from March 15, 2002 to April 01, 2002.  The date for Mexico has moved up by one (1) month from August 08, 1992 to September 08, 1992.  The date for the Philippines has moved up from March 22, 1993 to April 01, 1993.  The dates for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved up from March 15, 2002 to April 01, 2002.

 

The 2nd category, spouses and children, and unmarried sons and daughters of Permanent Residents, for Family Based Green Cards is split into two subcategories.  The first subcategory, Subcategory A, is for spouses and children of Permanent Residents.  The dates for Subcategory A for China and India have moved up from October 01, 2003 to December 01, 2003. The date for Mexico is unavailable.  The date for the Philippines has moved up from October 01, 2003 to December 01, 2003.  The dates for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved up from October 01, 2003 to December 01, 2003.

 

The second subcategory, Subcategory B, is for unmarried sons and daughters who are 21 years old or older.  The dates for Subcategory B for China and India have moved up from November 01, 1999 to December 15, 1999. The date for Mexico has moved up from April 15, 1992 to April 22, 1992.  The date for the Philippines has moved up from March 15, 1997 to April 08, 1997.  The dates for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved up from November 01, 1999 to December 15, 1999.

 

The dates for the 3rd category, married sons and daughters of US citizens, for Family Based Green Cards for China and India has moved up from June 08, 2000 to June 15, 2000. The date for Mexico has moved up from September 08, 1992 to September 15, 1992.  The date for the Philippines has moved up from April 01, 1991 to April 22, 1991.  The dates for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved up from June 08, 2000 to June 15, 2000.

 

 

The dates for the 4th category, brothers and sisters of adult US citizens, for Family Based Green Cards for China and India has moved up from February 22, 1997 to April 08, 1997.  The date for Mexico has moved up from January 08, 1995 to January 15, 1995.  The date for the Philippines has remained the same at March 08, 1986.  The dates for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved up from September 08, 1997 to October 01, 1997.
