Visa Bulletin Update – November 2008

Employment Based Green Cards:

 

The EB-2 category for China has moved forward from April 01, 2004 to June 01, 2004 and for India it has moved forward from April 01, 2003 to June 01, 2003.  The EB-1 category is still Current for all countries.  The EB-3 category for China has moved forward from October 01, 2001 to February 01, 2002; for India it has moved forward from July 01, 2001 to October 01, 2001; for Mexico it is at September 01, 2002; for the Philippines it is at May 01, 2005.  The date for all chargeability areas except those listed has moved from January 01, 2003 to January 15, 2003.

 

Family Based Green Cards:

 

The dates for the 1st category, unmarried sons and daughters of US citizens, for Family Based Green Cards for China and India has moved up from April 15, 2002 to May 01, 2002.  The date for Mexico has moved forward from September 08, 1992 to September 15, 1992.  The date for the Philippines has moved forward from April 01, 1993 to May 01, 1993.  The dates for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved up from April 15, 2002 to May 01, 2002.

 

The 2nd category, spouses and children, and unmarried sons and daughters of Permanent Residents, for Family Based Green Cards is split into two subcategories.  The first subcategory, Subcategory A, is for spouses and children of Permanent Residents.  The dates for Subcategory A for China, Philippines and India have moved up from January 01, 2004 to February 08, 2004. The date for Mexico has moved from May 01, 2001 to July 15, 2001.  The dates for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved up from January 01, 2004 to February 08, 2004.

 

The second subcategory, Subcategory B, is for unmarried sons and daughters who are 21 years old or older.  The dates for Subcategory B for all countries except Mexico have moved forward from December 15, 1999 to January 15, 2000.  The date for Mexico has remained the same.

 

The dates for the 3rd category, married sons and daughters of US citizens, for Family Based Green Cards for China and India has moved up from June 22, 2000 to July 01, 2000. The date for Mexico has remained the same at September 15, 1992.  The date for the Philippines has moved up from May 01, 1991 to May 08, 1991.  The dates for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved up from June 22, 2000 to July 01, 2000.

 

The dates for the 4th category, brothers and sisters of adult US citizens, for Family Based Green Cards for China has moved up from May 01, 1997 to June 08, 1997.  The date for India has moved up from May 22, 1997 July 22, 1997.  The date for Mexico has moved up from January 15, 1995 to January 22, 1995.  The date for the Philippines has moved up from March 08, 1986 to March 22, 1986.  The dates for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved up from October 22, 1997 to November 15, 1997.
