Visa Bulletin Update – March 2009

Employment Based Green Cards:

 

The EB-2 category date for China is at February 15, 2005 and for India it is at February 15, 2004.  The date is current for Mexico, the Philippines and all chargeability areas except those listed.  The EB-1 category is still Current for all countries.  The EB-3 category for the Philippines and all chargeability areas has not changed.  The date for China moved forward by 20 days to October 22, 2002; the date for India remains unchanged at October 15, 2001; the date for Mexico moved from April 01, 2003 to  August 15, 2003; the date for the Philippines is still at May 01, 2005; the date for all chargeability areas except those listed is still at May 01, 2005.

 

Family Based Green Cards:

 

The dates for the 1st category, unmarried sons and daughters of US citizens, for Family Based Green Cards for China and India has moved up from July 08, 2002 to July 22, 2002.  The date for Mexico is still at October 08, 1992.  The date for the Philippines is still at July 15, 1993.  The dates for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved up from July 08, 2002 to July 22, 2002.

 

The 2nd category, spouses and children, and unmarried sons and daughters of Permanent Residents, for Family Based Green Cards is split into two subcategories.  The first subcategory, Subcategory A, is for spouses and children of Permanent Residents.  The dates for Subcategory A for China, Philippines and India have moved up from June 01, 2004 to July 01, 2004. The date for Mexico has moved from September 22, 2001 to October 15, 2001.  The dates for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved up from June 01, 2004 to July 01, 2004.

 

The second subcategory, Subcategory B, is for unmarried sons and daughters who are 21 years old or older.  The dates for Subcategory B for China and India have moved up from May 08, 2000 to June 22, 2000. The date for Mexico is still at May 01, 1992.  The date for the Philippines has moved up from October 15, 1997 to December 01, 1997.  The date for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved from May 08, 2000 to June 22, 2000.

 

The dates for the 3rd category, married sons and daughters of US citizens, for Family Based Green Cards for China and India has moved up from August 01, 2000 to August 08, 2000. The date for Mexico has moved up from October 08, 1992 to October 15, 1992.  The date for the Philippines has moved up from June 01, 1991 to June 08, 1991.  The dates for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved up from August 01, 2000 to August 08, 2000.

 

The dates for the 4th category, brothers and sisters of adult US citizens, for Family Based Green Cards for China has moved up from September 22, 1997 to November 15, 1997.  The date for India has moved up from January 15, 1998 to March 01, 1998.  The date for Mexico has moved up from March 22, 1995 to April 08, 1995.  The date for the Philippines has moved up from May 01, 1986 to May 15, 1986.  The dates for all chargeability areas except those listed above moved up from February 15, 1998 to March 01, 1998.
