University of Northern Virginia SEVP Program is in the Process of Being Revoked

Students from the University of Northern Virginia should be aware that a Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) representative recently served the school’s officials with a Notice of Intent to Withdraw the school’s SEVP-certification and SEVIS access.

Students at the University of Northern Virginia are now left with two options:

1)    Continue to attend classes and maintain their active status in a manner required by regulation;

2)    Attempt to transfer to another SEVP-approved institution.

If affected students are unable to comply with either of the abovementioned options, they must immediately depart from the country.  The university no longer has access to the SEVIS and will not be able to maintain non-immigrant student’s records in SEVIS.  Non-immigrant students may contact SEVP, as they would their designated school official (DSO), to report any changes, so their SEVIS record and Form I-20 can be updated accordingly.

Affected students may also contact the SEVP Response Center (SRC) to ask questions.  The SEVP Response Center may be contacted at (703) 603-3400.  This number will be staffed from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (EST), Monday through Friday. In addition, on Saturday July, 30 and Sunday, July 31 the SRC will be staffed from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (EST). At other times, students may leave a message and an SEVP representative will return their call within 24 hours.
