U.S to Issue One (1) Million Visas to Indians

The number of U.S. visas issued to Indians will reach the one million mark shortly, according to Fredrick J. Kaplan, acting US consul general at the Chennai, India Consulate.  The number of US visas issued to Indians currently is at about 760,000 annually.  The US consul general further went to say that the influence of Indians is growing in the United States.  He mentioned that Indians make up the largest number of foreign students in the United States, numbering at around 83,000 students, and also that Indian immigrants are responsible for one in seven start up companies in the Silicon Valley.
