USCIS Releases Immigrant Petition Statistics for EB-1 Alien Worker (I-140)

United States Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) released its
statistics for the Fiscal Year 2010-2011, relating to the immigrant
classifications for alien’s with extraordinary ability, outstanding professors
or researchers, and multinational executives or managers.
From January 2011 to July 20, 2011, the Nebraska Service Center received 840
applications for immigrants in the classification of aliens with extraordinary
ability. It received many more applications for aliens filing in the category of
multinational manager or executive, with 2,256 petitions in total. It also
received 715 applications for immigrations in the classification of outstanding
professor or researcher. Out of these applications, 408 were approved for the
category of alien’s with extraordinary abilities (48.6% approval rate); 1,562
were approved for aliens who filed under the multinational manager or executive
category (69.2% approval rate); and 594 were approved for aliens who filed as
outstanding professors or researchers (83.1% approval rate).
The Texas Service Center also received numerous petitions in the period from
January 2011 to July 20, 2011. During this time, the Texas Service Center
received 3,237 applications for immigrants in the classification of aliens with
extraordinary ability. Like the Nebraska Service Center, it also received many
more applications for aliens filing in the category of multinational manager or
executive, with 4,888 petitions in total. It also received 1,856 applications
for immigrations in the classification of outstanding professor or researcher.
Out of these applications, 1,703 were approved for the category of alien’s with
extraordinary abilities (52.6% approval rate); 2,808 were approved for aliens
who filed under the multinational manager or executive category (57.4% approval
rate); and 1,673 were approved for aliens who filed as outstanding professors or
researchers (88.2% approval rate).
For 2011 thus far, all USCIS services centers have received a total of 13,794
petitions. Of these, 8,712 were approved, 1,998 were denied, and 4,401 Requests
for Evidence were issued.
