Potential for EB-2 Visa Priority Date Movement in Coming Months
In preparing its May 2011 Bulletin, the Department of State will consider the
approximately 12,000 unused EB-1 (visas for those with extraordinary ability,
outstanding researchers and professors, and multinational managers or
executives) numbers that will “spill-down” to EB-2 visa holders, and will
consult with USCIS on its processing potential. The DOS reports that there is
the potential for greater advancement for those in the India EB-2 category, than
previously thought. The May visa bulletin, generally issued mid-April, will
include a discussion of visa availability projections for the remainder of the
year
