EB-3 date ahead of EB-2 date for India in January 2008 Visa Bulletin

The January 2008 Visa Bulletin is showing the EB-3 category ahead of the EB-2 category for India. The EB-3 date for India is at 01 November 2001 while the EB-2 date is at January 01, 2000. This maybe due to the fact that a vast majority of the Labor Certifications that have been filed in the last 2/3 years for Indian nationals (ever since the Employment Based categories in Visa Bulletin retrogressed) have been filed under the EB-2 category even by people who did not have Master’s degree by filing under the equivalent requirements of Bachelors Degree and 5 years of experience. It is difficult to predict whether in the future that the EB-2 dates will move faster than the EB-3 dates for India. We will just have to wait and see how the EB-2/EB-3 dates move in the next few months..
