USCIS has introduced a new system for scheduling biometrics appointments where the biometrics appointments will be scheduled by the USCIS directly. Applicants will not have to call the NCSC to schedule a biometrics appointment.

However, separate biometrics appointments are being scheduled for each application for which biometric data is required, such as separate biometrics appointments for an I-485 and a concurrently filed I-765. This is due to the fact that the data cannot migrate between the databases for the two applications and that records are kept on the basis of receipt number. USCIS is devising a system to allow the capture of biometrics for all related applications in a single visit.
