Applicants with Exceptional Ability

Green Cards > Employment Green Card > Applicants with Exceptional Ability

Exceptional ability means expertise significantly above that ordinarily encountered. To prove exceptional ability, an applicant must meet any three of the following standards:

  • Degree relating to area of exceptional ability;
  • License to practice the relevant profession;
  • Membership in a professional association;
  • Letter from current or former employer showing at least 10 years of experience in the relevant field;
  • Proof the applicant has had a salary demonstrating exceptional ability; and/or
  • Recognition for achievements and significant contributions to the field by peers, government entities, professional or business organization(s).

If an applicant cannot demonstrate at least three of the above, he/she may alternatively submit expert opinion letters to show exceptional ability.
