AILA-USCIS Texas Service Center Meeting, May 19, 2009

At the recent May 19, 2009, AILA –USCIS TSC (Texas Service Center) meeting, TSC provided an update on case volume, processing time and production. Monthly processing volume for Employment-based cases processed by TSC has been approximately 3,500- 4,500 cases per month. There has been an increase in asylum-related cases to more than 3,000 for March 2009 compared to an average of 1,800 per month for earlier months. Approximately 3,000-4,000 I-140s and I140/I-485 are being processed per month.

The goal for TSC is to adjudicate cases within 4 months. TSC expects that this will be achieved for I-140s by the end of June 2009. TSC has also pre-processed 85,000 I-485s that are now ready for immigrant visa numbers by the beginning of next fiscal year. TSC has also almost completed adjudication of I-140s filed during the high volume period of July and August 2007.
